Summer is here and there’s just 70 days to go until Tennent’s Vital 2012!

The Stone Roses kicked off their big reunion tour with a blistering first performance in Barcelona at the weekend.

Their set opened with I Wanna Be Adored and featured the long-awaited return of Fool's Gold and a classic encore in the shape of a ten-minute long ‘I Am The Resurrection’.

Liam Gallagher was in the audience for the first show, and he told the BBC:“It’s like ‘Quadrophenia’ or something.  They’re the best band in the world, no question. I followed them around when I was 16 and 17. It’s amazing.”

Meanwhile, The Black Keys put in a stunning performance at The MTV Movie Awards in California last week which included a duet with acting legend Johnny Depp.  Depp showcased his guitar skills during a rendition of The Black Keys big hits ‘Gold on The Ceiling’ and ‘Lonely Boy’.  Depp’s a big fan of Austin’s finest, dubbing then “up and coming legends’.

Foo Fighters have won every award going during their stellar 18 year career including 11 Grammys.  But now iconic frontman Dave Grohl is up for another- The Big Daddy Award.  With Father’s Day around the corner, Dave is up against the likes of Bono and Metallica’s James Hetfield for the title of Father of the year!  Also in the news this week, is Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins who’s been chosen to play punk legend Iggy Pop in an upcoming film biopic.

Throughout the summer we’ll keep you posted on what all our Tennent’s Vital artists are up to as we countdown to Northern Ireland’s biggest and best festival!
